A Public Housing Authority for 75 Mainstream Housing Choice Vouchers.

A division of Thrive Behavioral Health, Kent County Housing Services assists individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, rent burdened clients of Thrive, and Rhode Island residents who are disabled. This program provides services to extremely low-income disabled individuals and families throughout Rhode Island.

Kent County Housing offers multiple services including:

  • Training and housing case management services for participants
  • Assistance with apartment selection and rent negotiation
  • Ensuring apartments pass Housing Quality Standards inspections
  • Helping participants with any housing issues that arise

Approximately 120 individuals and families receive housing assistance from Kent County Housing, which serves as a Public Housing Authority for the Mainstream Voucher program.  This program provides 75 vouchers for disabled, extremely low-income individuals and families living in Kent County.

In addition to subsidizing’s privately owned housing in Kent County, Thrive maintains a number of properties owned by its subsidiaries— Robert Street Realty, Kentco Holdings Corporation, and Kentco Properties, Inc. The properties are managed by Kent County Housing and include apartment buildings, single family homes, and HUD multifamily housing.
