Supporting Thrive

Support our Mission: DONATE TODAY!

Our donors help Rhode Island's most vulnerable families thrive!

Thrive Behavioral Health helps people create positive and lasting change regardless of their age, income, or insurance status. We assist those facing a mental health crisis, battling alcoholism or drug addiction, or suffering from homelessness. In 2021, Thrive provided more than $1,000,000 of uncompensated services to people who could not afford to pay for the care they needed.

While the majority of our funding comes from third-party billing and grants, Thrive depends upon the generosity of our private donors and community partners to help us meet immediate needs not covered by these resources. We hope you will considering supporting our mission, and here's why:

We’ve been helping Rhode Island’s most vulnerable citizens for over 40 years. Thrive has developed a reputation for effectively serving children, families and adults with multiple and complex issues. While we focus on serious mental illness and chronic homelessness, many of our clients also suffer from substance abuse issues, trauma, medical problems and criminal justice involvement.

We don’t turn away people who need our help. We give people the tools to create positive and lasting change regardless of their age, income, or insurance status. In 2021, our dedicated staff provided over $1,000,000 of uncompensated services to people who could not afford to pay for care.

We are making our community stronger. Our dedicated staff is out in the community helping children in their schools, and families in their homes. Children impacted by behavioral issues are welcomed at our Eleanor Briggs School, a leader in the field of special education and mental health for those whose behavioral difficulties significantly impede their progress in public school. We also provide intervention services and court and jail diversion programs, and we assist people who have been victimized by crime. At every age, at every stage, we help Rhode Islanders improve their quality of life by giving them the tools they need to thrive.

We are a success story. Our success is well documented across all of our programs, and success of our homeless services is determined by housing stability. Our record speaks for itself: after one year, 87% of people placed in our Housing First program remained housed. Retention rates after two years was 83%, and 80% after three years. Every dollar spent to eliminate chronic homelessness results in an overall cost savings of 33 cents.

We are ending chronic homelessness in Rhode Island. This year, the Housing First program will house 300 people who were formerly living on the street. And it’s not only the participants who will be positively impacted by this program. Over 900 others will benefit in countless ways including decreased stress, diminished financial burdens, and establishing healthier relationships with their loved ones.

We are a nationally accredited 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our programs are accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and licensed by the RI Department of Behavioral Health.
