Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Thrive

Thrive Behavioral Health’s mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals regardless of their age, gender, race, color, culture, national origin, religion or sexual orientation.

Thrive recognizes that systemic racism has had a debilitating and enduring impact on the lives of many of our clients, staff and community members. We condemn discrimination and racism of any kind. We also understand that a system’s results are determined by its design. Because of this, Thrive is committed to working diligently to make the systemic changes necessary to eliminate the health inequities and social injustices that remain part of everyday life for far too many.

In the summer of 2020, the Board of Directors of Thrive Behavioral Health began the process of making Thrive an organization that better embraces the values of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Since then Thrive has taken the following steps to realize this vision:

  • Established a Staff DEI Committee consisting of staff members across all levels of staffing and programs to guide the company's efforts and activities to ensure a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.
  • Created a Board DEI Sub-Committee with members of Thrive's Board of Directors to:
    • ensure that the members of Thrive's Board of Directors are representative of the diverse communities we serve;
    • steer the organization to make certain that Thrive is a welcoming place for every staff member, client and community member regardless of their age, gender, race, color, culture, national origin, religion or sexual orientation.
  • Engaged the services of a Consultant with 30 years of experience specializing in organizational development in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to guide Thrive's Board and staff through a process of self-reflection, analysis and action.
